Description
Keep learning going strong until the end of the year with these alphabet countdown math review pages for kindergarten! An ABC countdown is a fantastic way to keep engagement up during the last month of school—and to build lasting memories with your class before they move on. This set allows you to easily integrate math review into your countdown with one two-sided practice page per letter.
What’s included in this Alphabet Countdown Math Review set?
This PDF includes 52 printable pages with letter-themed practice in five kindergarten math domains. With two pages per letter, these activities are designed to be printed back-to-back to save paper.
▶️ Counting and Cardinality
For each letter, you’ll find three exercises for practicing the numbers 1-10. Students count sets of pictures and write the numeral to match.
▶️ Teen Numbers
Three number bond exercises per letter allow students to focus on the numbers 11-19 as a group of tens and some extra ones.
▶️ Measurement
Students complete a quick measurement prompt, indicating which picture has more or less of a given attribute. This is great for vocabulary review!
▶️ Geometry
Students search for circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles in pictures. They count and write the numeral. Encourage students to name the shapes to review vocabulary.
▶️ Addition and Subtraction
The second page for each letter focuses on addition and subtraction within 10. Each page includes two word problems and six equations to solve. The first word problem is a straightforward addition or subtraction problem. The second problem on each page introduces some slightly more difficult elements to encourage critical thinking. These problems are written to be read aloud to students.
How can I use this Alphabet Countdown Math Review set?
These pages are designed to be used to review kindergarten math during the final month of school. The letter-a-day theme allows you to add whimsy to math instruction while ensuring that students end the year strong. Though there are exercises on these pages that most kindergartners will be able to complete independently, there are others that have specific instructions that will need to be read to students.
These review pages can be completed in a whole-group setting, in small math groups, one-on-one with an older buddy or parent helper, or as homework with the help of an adult at home.
