Hello! I’m Susan, the founder of My Happy Place Teaching Resources LLC.

I’ve always had a passion for education and for nurturing the creativity and curiosity of children. My love for teaching started in my childhood; playing school with my dolls led to babysitting and working as a camp counselor. After graduating with an elementary education degree from the University of Illinois, I went on to 14 years of teaching—mostly kindergarten and first grade. I now live in Georgia with my husband and our two sons. While I am no longer in the classroom, I love to chat with teachers and keep up-to-date on issues in education.

With My Happy Place, I aim to support teachers and continue my involvement in education. I hope the resources I create will make your life as a teacher a little bit easier! When creating activities and lessons I prioritize engagement, age-appropriateness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
