Celebrate the end of the year in your classroom with an exciting and memorable ABC countdown! An alphabet countdown is a fantastic way to keep engagement up during the last month of school—and to build lasting memories with your class before they move on. This set includes an editable calendar and parent letter, over 100 theme day ideas, and a reflection sheet to go with each idea!

What’s Included in this ABC Countdown Set?

After purchasing this set, you will download a zipped (compressed folder) containing two files. You will need to extract these files, which is easy to do. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

▶️ A PDF with Over 100 Reflection Sheets

Each reflection sheet is included in two line styles. Use these pages to have your students write about the special days you include in your countdown. A cover page is also included, in case you want to compile a memory book!

▶️ A PowerPoint File with Editable Materials

Edit a calendar with the dates of your countdown and the theme days you choose. You can edit this calendar to go from A-Z or Z-A. Text for over 100 theme days is included in a table for you to easily copy and paste into your calendar. A family letter is also included with the editable materials, as are editable reflection sheets in both line styles.

How Can I Use This ABC Countdown Set?

First, you’ll want to organize your calendar by filling in the dates for the last 26 days of school. Be sure to account for any days off, field trips, or other special events! Then, select a theme day for each letter of the alphabet. Consider choosing some very simple alphabet themes along with others that require a little more planning (to avoid burning yourself out). You can copy and paste theme descriptions from the included tables before editing the text to meet your needs.

Once you have your ABC theme days set, edit the family letter to convey any important information to caregivers. You might want to ask for supply donations or volunteers, as well.

Finally, print the reflection pages to correspond with your chosen theme days. Students can draw and write about each special day! A printable cover is included to allow you to compile their reflections into journals or memory books.
