What’s included in this ten frame matching pack?

This low-prep kindergarten math activity includes three levels of play with printable cards and recording sheets for each. The cards for each section are included in a black-and-white version at the end of the file.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

✅ Counting Practice
This section includes printable cards with 0-10 ten frames, number words, and numerals. Students can match all three, or you can omit some of the cards to narrow your focus. A recording sheet for this section allows students to trace number words and draw circles in a ten frame to match.

✅ Ways to Make 10
This section includes ten frames that show the various ways to compose the number ten. Students match these cards with corresponding equations. This is a great supplement to a “Friend of Ten” lesson. Two recording sheets for this section allow scaffolded practice with recording ways to make 10 in ten frames and equations.

✅ Adding with Five Frames
This section includes five frames containing circles that represent equations with sums 2-5. Each ten frame card matches an equation card. Three recording/follow-up sheets for this section allow scaffolded practice with addition within five.

How can I use this ten frame center in my classroom?

To get this center up and running, simply print the sections of your choice on card stock. If you wish to make them more durable, laminate them. Then cut them apart.

After you teach the procedure and your expectations, students can use this activity as a center or an early finisher task. You might also wish to use the cards in small groups and then make them available for independent practice in a pocket chart.
