Practice adding within 10 with this easy-prep set of goldfish addition task cards and work mats. Great for small groups, centers, or a fun math snack (with fish crackers), these materials are versatile and allow for differentiation.

What’s included in this goldfish addition task cards set?

✔️ visual directions for students
✔️ 54 addition task cards (sums 1-10)
✔️ 2 fish bowl math mats to print and laminate
✔️ 3 recording sheets
✔️ optional fish counters (to print and laminate)
✔️ optional number tiles (to print and laminate)

The above materials are included in color and black and white versions.

Options:
▶ Choose the simple work mat (just a fishbowl) or the mat with space for copying the equation from the task card. Laminate or use a dry erase pocket.
▶ Print the fish manipulatives or use fish crackers or other manipulatives.
▶ The printable number tiles can be used in place of a dry erase marker if you wish to have students transfer the equation from the task card to the work mat (or write the sums on the laminated task cards).
▶ Choose one of the three recording sheets if you want to have a record of student work.
▶ Print and laminate the task cards. You may wish to sort these to allow students to practice sums within five before giving them the more difficult task cards.

How can I use this goldfish addition task cards set with my class?

💡 Have a “Fun Friday” math snack with Goldfish™ crackers. For this activity, provide students with a work mat that will double as their plate and a small cup of crackers. Display task cards to the whole group, giving students time to model each equation with their crackers. For this activity, consider using the half-page recording sheet to give students practice at transferring the equation to paper.

💡 Work with students in small groups, having them model equations on their work mats (in dry erase sleeves). They can then practice writing the equation with the sum using a dry erase marker.

💡 Use the work mats and task cards as a math station activity.
