CVC Words Writing Prompt Scenes

Description

This set of CVC words writing prompts includes six illustrated scenes that each incorporate images representing several CVC words. Presented in a variety of formats, these scenes offer children opportunities to decode and encode CVC words, as well as to incorporate them into their writing.

Useful as centers, in small groups, or as independent practice, the game-like design of these activities engages and motivates students.

What’s included in this CVC words writing prompts set?

This set includes six CVC scenes presented in a variety of formats to help students practice reading and writing. All color materials are also included in black and white.

✅ 6 CVC Scenes with Word Banks

Students practice decoding the words in the bank and then search for each picture within the scene. These scenes can then be used as writing prompts, giving students the chance to use CVC words within sentences. One scene is included for each medial vowel and one with all five vowels.

✅ 6 CVC Scenes without Word Banks

To practice encoding CVC words, students search within the scene for words to write in list format. They can then follow up with sentence writing.

✅ 6 CVC Scenes Writing Pages with Word Banks

Students read the words, find and color them in the pictures, then write sentences about the picture below. Two line styles are included for each prompt.

Students look for CVC word representations within the scenes and then use those words when writing sentences about the pictures.

✅ Writing Paper and List Paper

Use these pages, which are each included in two line styles) with the full-page scenes to give students a place to write lists and sentences.

How can I use these CVC writing activities in the classroom?

The full-page CVC scenes make a great open-ended writing center! Simply print the scenes and laminate them, or place them in a protective sleeve. The included writing paper can be used with any of the six scenes, so print plenty to have on hand.

The CVC scene writing pages are perfect for incorporating into your writing time, for using in small groups, or for using as a center. They can also be sent home for extra practice as needed.
