What’s included in this teen numbers ten frame matching pack?

This low-prep kindergarten math activity includes three levels of play with printable cards and recording sheets for each. The cards for each section are included in a black-and-white version at the end of the file.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

✅ Counting & Teen Number Representation Practice
This section includes printable cards with 10-20 ten frames, number words, tally marks, and numerals. Students can match all four, or you can omit some of the cards to narrow your focus. Recording sheets for this section allow students to either write a numeral to match the circles in a set of ten frames or draw circles in ten frames to match a numeral.

✅ Composing Teen Numbers with 10 + __ Equations
This section includes ten frame cards (illustrating the teen numbers) to match with 10 + __ equations, allowing students to see the teen numbers as a group of ten plus some more ones. Two recording sheets for this section allow students to practice representing teen numbers with equations.

✅ Place Value with Base Ten Blocks
In this section, students match ten frame representations of the numbers 10-20 with images of base ten blocks. A recording sheet for this section has students draw circles in ten frames to match pictures of base ten blocks.

How can I use this teen numbers ten frame center in my classroom?

To get this center up and running, simply print the sections of your choice on card stock. If you wish to make them more durable, laminate them and then cut them apart.

After you teach the procedure and your expectations, students can use this activity as a center or an early finisher task. You might also wish to use the cards in small groups and then make them available for independent practice in a pocket chart.
