Perfect for your October math centers, these pumpkin math puzzles cover four skills: numbers 1-10, teen numbers, 2-D and 3-D shapes, and beginning addition (within five). These simple puzzles make an easy-prep independent math center!

Pumpkin Math Puzzles: What’s Included?

Inside this kindergarten math resource, you’ll find four different sets of pumpkin-themed math puzzles, each included in two print options: color and black and white. These three-part puzzles include images of pumpkins, celebrating the fall season without referencing Halloween. Each set includes a label and a recording sheet.

Puzzle Options:
✅ Numbers 1-10: Students match numerals to sets of pumpkin seeds to practice subitizing.
✅ Numbers 11-20: Students match representations of teen numbers (ten frames, expressions, and sums).
✅ 2-D and 3-D Shapes: Students match shapes with illustrations of shapes in the real world. (The included shapes are circle, square, rectangle, triangle, hexagon, sphere, cylinder, pyramid, cube, and cone.
✅ Addition Within 5: Students match addition expressions with sums and pictures.

A recording (or follow-up practice) sheet is included for each puzzle option.

How to Prepare and Store These Pumpkin Math Puzzles

Choose from the color or black and white options to print onto cardstock. Laminate the puzzle cards and labels. Cut the puzzles apart.

These puzzles are color-coded for easy sorting (the black and white versions have different frame styles). They are sized to fit in zip-top sandwich bags or 4” x 6” plastic photo boxes. Tape the laminated label to the outside of the container.
