Description

Fun for parties or whole-class or small-group phonics practice, these CVC words bingo cards provide students with practice decoding 60 consonant-vowel-consonant words.

This pack includes 30 cards in each of six sets—each medial vowel (a, e, i, o, and u) and all the vowels mixed together. It includes 60 printable calling cards and two versions of digital (Google Slides) calling cards.

What’s included in this CVC words bingo game set?

This set includes six styles of bingo cards, along with printable and digital calling cards. Black and white versions are included of all printable materials.

✅ Single-Vowel CVC Words Bingo Cards

With 30 unique game boards for each vowel, these cards each contain nine CVC words. Use the printable calling cards or project the Google Slides to show the students a picture. They then segment the sounds and look for the correct word on their card. (There are 12 included words for each vowel, so each card does not contain every word.)

✅ Mixed Practice CVC Words Bingo Cards

The 30 mixed practice game boards have 24 words (and a free space). Use the printable calling cards or project the Google Slides to show the students a picture. (There are 60 included words in this game, so each card does not contain every word.)

✅ Printable Calling Cards

A printable picture card is included for each of the 60 included words.

✅ Digital Calling Cards

Two Google Slides links are included with digital picture calling cards for you to display. One file includes pictures with no words. The other file is set to reveal the words one letter at a time with your clicks. This is a helpful scaffolding tool while students are still learning to segment and read CVC words. Instructions are included for displaying only one letter at a time, as well as for shuffling the slides.

✅ A Picture Answer Key

The final page in this file is a picture key, just in case there is any confusion about which CVC word a picture represents.

How can I use this CVC game in the classroom?

These CVC bingo games are great for whole- or small-group practice as you introduce and practice reading CVC words. They are also a fun way to review during a class party or “Fun Friday.”

Students will need something to mark their cards with. Small math counters work well. You can also use a paper cutter to (quickly) make lots of small squares out of construction paper.
